May 15: Fayetteville Spartan Race (Duke School of Medicine)

Join MM at the Fayetteville Spartan Race on May 15! 

Coming soon, we'll head down the road for the Fayetteville Spartan Race and hope you'll join us for a fun challenge, great community building, and a good cause!   We are excited to announce that as we train for this 5k obstacle course, we have partnered with and are fundraising for the Durham Striders Youth Association, a youth Track & Field and Cross Country organization that focuses on the overall health, wellness, and productivity of youth in our community. All funds raised will go towards scholarships to help pay registration and participation fees for Striders athletes with financial need. Fundraising is not a requirement of participation, but we hope you'll consider supporting a local cause currently weathering the pandemic to address the social determinants in our community, regardless of whether you can join us for the race!

Support the Striders! 

During the 5 Saturdays leading up to the race, we'll host a Spartan Training Session Series from the Official Reebok Spartan 5-Week Training Guide to prime all of us for the event. This guide is also a great resource for other training ideas, nutrition & hydration tips, and race day preparation!

Additionally, we're  working to secure funding to cover up to 50% of the cost of registration for anyone who signs up. No guarantees yet, but that's how much we want to see you at Fayetteville!!

On the website, be sure to register for the "Sprint 5K | 20 Obstacles" on Sunday afternoon. Select any preferred start time. After you register, join our team "Medicine in Motion Duke" in your Spartan account and event organizers will adjust start times to ensure our entire team can participate together.
