Daniel Kim
Daniel is a second-year student at McGovern Medical School in Houston. He grew up in North Texas where from a young age he discovered a keen passion for soccer. After playing several years with the FC Dallas youth development program and coaching summer camps in Canada, he attended Texas A&M university to study Chemical Engineering. He continues to enjoy playing soccer and has recently taken up an interest in tennis. Daniel appreciates the role athletic fitness plays in operating at one’s full potential and as a preventative health measure. In combining these objectives with Medicine in Motion, he hopes to help facilitate an environment where medical students can find community and support in the context of physical wellness.
Dillon Humpal
Dillon is a first-year medical student at McGovern Medical School in Houston. He grew up in Corpus Christi, Texas with a love for fitness and sports, especially basketball and tennis. Dillon attended Texas A&M University where he studied Biomedical Sciences with a certificate in Medical Spanish. In college, he continued playing tennis with the Texas A&M club tennis team and would frequently play basketball at the recreational center. Dillon is passionate about promoting the importance of fitness and physical well-being and is excited to be a part of Medicine in Motion at McGovern.
Madysen Johnson
Madysen is a 2nd-year medical student at McGovern Medical School in Houston. She grew up in Austin, Texas where she was involved in many sports from a young age. She shared this love for sports and fitness as a swim coach in high school and continued her involvement in swimming at the University of North Carolina. At UNC, she received degrees in Biology and Chemistry. During medical school, she has continued to live an active lifestyle through fitness classes, weightlifting and running and attributes her ability to thrive as a medical student to this. She looks forward to sharing this passion with the rest of McGovern Medical School and to providing a community for other students to do the same.
Miles Holmes
Miles is a 2nd year medical student at McGovern Medical School in Houston, TX. After graduating from UT Austin with a major in Biochemistry and a minor in Psychology, he worked with both an Orthopedic Foot & Ankle Specialist and a Psychiatrist in his gap years. As an avid rock-climber, two-stepper, and musician, he finds it important to share the benefits of healthy extracurricular activities with those struggling to find their place in the medical community. Through MIM, Miles is excited to explore the use of physical health as an avenue to improve mental health.
