Docs 4 Preemies (Koc University School of Medicine)

1.1 million babies die due to complications related to prematurity each year, making prematurity the second major cause of infant deaths worldwide. This year, in the week of November 17 World Prematurity Day, we run 15 K for the fifteen million babies born preterm this year. All you need to do to participate is: Wear purple (optional), walk/run a total of 15 K over the course of the week of November 16th-22nd, take pics and hashtag #worldprematurityday and #docs4preemies (don’t forget to tag Medicine in Motion) (optional), share your walk/run on an app (like Strava), ask friends & family to support local organizations for prematurity, such as March of Dimes for the US and EFCNI for Europe (optional). Join us to help these tiny babies and their families raise their voice – worldwide!
